What cameras can do
- Motion detectionThe camera notices any change in the frame. Simple, but it also reacts to branches, rain and headlights.
- Line crossingA line is drawn in the frame. The camera reports when someone crosses it — walks through a gate, for example.
- Zone entryAn area is marked in the frame. A signal comes when someone appears in it — near a storeroom at night, for example.
- Person or vehicleMany modern cameras tell a person and a car from everything else. False alerts drop noticeably.
- Event searchIn the archive you can watch not the whole night through, but only the minutes when something happened.

Why does my phone keep reporting motion?
Most likely plain motion detection is on for the whole picture. A zone or a line and the person-or-vehicle filter help.
Can all cameras do this?
No. The set of features depends on the camera and recorder model — this is clarified during selection.
