How to add cameras to an existing system
The system is in place, but there are no longer enough cameras. Adding more is almost always possible — the question is what has to be bought along with them.

Five questions
- Are there free channelsA recorder has a limited number of channels: one channel is one camera. If all are taken, a second recorder or a replacement is needed.
- Will the new cameras fitThe camera and the recorder must understand each other. The safest choice is cameras from the same manufacturer.
- Is the disk big enoughMore cameras mean a shorter archive. A larger disk or a second disk may be needed.
- Is there enough powerA switch that powers cameras over the cable has a total power budget. New cameras may not fit within it.
- How the cable will runIn a finished room this is the main question: in trunking, above the ceiling or along the facade.
Questions
Frequently asked questions
Can an IP camera be added to an analogue recorder?
Many modern recorders accept both. The data sheet of the specific recorder shows this.
What if the system is old and a different brand?
It is inspected first: sometimes it pays to add to it, sometimes to replace the recorder and keep the cable.
Do you expand systems that are already installed?
Yes. We repair, adjust and expand systems that are already installed. We come out on request.
